1. Sustainable Print, Made Practical
Green Sustainability is important to Prontaprint, we are committed to leading the print industry in minimising the impact of our activities on the environment and making sure our day-to-day operations are more sustainable.  We continually look at our procurement, storage, distribution, product development and production so that we can reduce the impact of what we do on the environment.

    Planting Trees with Carbon Capture
As part of our green sustainability commitment, Prontaprint are very pleased to announce that we have signed up to the Carbon Capture® Programme.  This is an initiative that creates new native woodland in the UK through the Woodland Trust and the Woodland Carbon Scheme.

Carbon Capture is a method of mitigating C02 emissions  and provides a unique carbon reduction solution, giving our customers the opportunity to purchase sustainable print.

  1. How does it work?

  1. When our customers place a printing order the amount of C02 generated in the production, printing and delivery of the paper is calculated. The most effective way to capture this carbon is to plant new young trees. Young trees use more carbon than established trees as they use it in their growth process.

The cost to buy and plant new trees is covered by Prontaprint as we are committed to reducing C02 emissions from our practices and to delivering sustainable print.  This means our customers gain all of the benefits without any extra cost.

We removed carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by created new native woodland, right here in the UK

  1. Why should our customers get involved in Green sustainability?

The Woodland Carbon logo may be used in conjunction with the print job to demonstrate your commitment to using reduced C02 paper which enhances your brand and reinforces your environmental message.

This is fantastic for PR and customer relations exercises as well as leaving you with the knowledge that you have done something to help reduce your carbon footprint and mitigate your environmental impact.

  1. Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Is print environmentally friendly?

When managed correctly, print can be a responsible and sustainable communication method. The key is choosing the right materials and processes.

  2. What’s the difference between FSC® and recycled paper?

FSC® ensures paper comes from responsibly managed forests, while recycled paper reduces the need for new raw materials. We’ll help you choose what’s most suitable.

  3. Are sustainable options more expensive?

Not always. Many options are comparable in cost, and we’ll always help you balance budget with environmental impact.

  4. Do I need to choose sustainable options?

It’s entirely your choice. Our role is to give you clear, honest guidance so you can make the right decision for your project.

  5. How do you reduce waste?

Through accurate specification, efficient production, and thorough file checks. Helping prevent unnecessary reprints and excess materials.

  6. Why use Carbon Capture?

Using carbon capture paper supports environmental sustainability by helping offset CO2 emissions. Woodland is the second-largest carbon sink after oceans, making tree planting highly effective for carbon capture. The programme directs 100% of its carbon capture charge to planting native UK woodland through the Woodland Trust, ensuring real impact. It operates under the UK Government’s Woodland Carbon Code, giving it credibility and accountability. By funding new tree planting in the UK, the scheme actively removes CO2 from the atmosphere while supporting local ecosystems.
